CNS: central nervous system CSF: cerebrospinal fluid PCMZL: primary cutaneous marginal zone lymphoma WBC: white blood cells BACKGROUND Primary cutaneous marginal zone lymphoma (PCMZL) is an indolent B-cell lymphoma, typically characterized by frequent cutaneous recurrences and rare systemic involvement. [Splenic marginal zone B-cell lymphoma with epidermotropic skin involvement].

Marginal zone B-cell lymphoma (MZL) is subclassified into extranodal MZL of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (including cutaneous lymphomas), splenic MZL, and nodal MZL. We report the case of a 68-year-old man with erythematous-violaceous plaques and nodules. Skin biopsy showed an epidermotropic lymphocytic infiltration and cytology and immunohistochemistry were consistent with MZL. The workup...

Primary cutaneous B-cell lymphomas: recent advances in diagnosis and management.

BACKGROUND Primary cutaneous B-cell lymphoma (PCBCL) is a heterogeneous group of rare clonal B-cell lymphoproliferative disorders with distinct clinicopathologic features from more common nodal B-cell lymphomas. METHODS We performed a systematic review of the relevant literature in the MEDLINE database and analyzed laboratory and clinical data. This review discusses the three most common type...

Rituximab in the treatment of primary cutaneous B-cell lymphoma: a review.

Rituximab is a chimeric mouse-human antibody that targets the CD20 antigen, which is found in both normal and neoplastic B cells. In recent years, it has been increasingly used to treat cutaneous B-cell lymphoma and is now considered an alternative to classic treatment (radiotherapy and surgery) of 2 types of indolent lymphoma, namely, primary cutaneous follicle center lymphoma and primary cuta...

Radioimmunotherapy of relapsed indolent non-Hodgkin lymphoma with 131I-rituximab in routine clinical practice: 10-year single-institution experience of 142 consecutive patients.

Radioimmunotherapy of indolent non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) has achieved objective response rates in clinical trials comparable with standard rituximab with cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisone chemotherapy, but is relatively underused in routine practice. In this article, we report our clinical experience in 142 consecutive patients who received iodine-131 rituximab radioim...
